TRACY HENRY MUSIC
BIO
Tracy Henry is a professional saxophonist and educator based in the Greater Los Angeles area. In addition to his work as a performer with various ensembles in Southern California, Tracy is also known for his work as a saxophone instructor and jazz educator.
Tracy has played in a variety of groups: Craig Kupka's Big Bad Garage Band (1st alto), Michael Wetherwax's Waxtrax Quartet (featured vocalist & saxophonist), and Chickadee Productions' 2 For The Show (principal performer), where he sings, plays a variety of instruments, and dances.
Tracy was recently the jazz band director at Burbank High School, where he also served as the saxophone and jazz coach for eleven years. His popular summer jazz workshop, Mr. Henry's Jazz Boot Camp, just completed its fifth year.
Tracy also maintains an active private lesson schedule, and is always eager to share what he has learned over the years with student musicians of all ages. His students regularly receive high marks at adjudicated classical and jazz festivals.
Tracy holds a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, and a Bachelor of Arts degree (magna cum laude) from the University of Maryland.
